Buddies

This weekend, I got to photograph some good friends on what was probably the last nice day of fall Bozeman is likely to have. They live caddy-corner behind us and their little guy is exactly 2 weeks older than mine. The boys are pretty good buddies and we love hanging out with Mom and Dad just as much!

A fall photo shoot just isn't complete without playing in the leaves!

It was very enlightening for me to photograph a 2 1/2 year old that is not related to me. My own son definitely has an extreme case of photographer's child syndrome--he rarely makes eye contact with the camera and even less frequently gives me a smile. This day, I discovered that some of his camera aversion might just be age-related. I eeked a few smiles out of his buddy, but it didn't take long for him to grow tired of my camera, too. Luckily, Mom and Dad got him smiling again!

He's such a cutie!

More to come!

3 Boys + Mom + Dad

Just a few more of this fine family to share with you. They're quite a handsome bunch, aren't they?

While we were taking some pictures in the open grass, the oldest two boys spotted this amazing tree and took off running. Mom, Dad, littlest brother, and I trekked over and upon closer inspection, realized it was a great perch for the whole family!

There's just something about the bond of brothers and I was so happy to capture this:

And to get a nice shot of Mom with her boys. . .

I'll finish this preview with one more of the entire, sweet family together!

3 Boys

Just a little sneak peek for some friends. . .

That's right--there are 3 handsome boys in this wonderful family (not counting Dad!). To say they have a lot of energy would be an understatement! I did catch them in a quiet moment, though, and I'll say that their sweetness matched their energy level.

Thanks for a fun afternoon at the park, boys!

The Mushrooms

On a recent hike in Hyalite Canyon, my typical subject (my 2-year-old) was being particularly cranky about having his photo taken. That's when I spotted these mushrooms and settled for capturing them with my camera.

They were quite the cooperative subjects!

My dear friends

My interest in photography has no doubt been fueled by my dear friend Erin. Over the years, my family and I happily posed in front of her camera and we now have hundreds of beautiful images to document our life. So, when we were all together on vacation in the Poconos I was honored when she asked if I would do a photo shoot of her family.

A few days later we headed out to the lakeside for some more photos.

I'm so glad Erin got the chance to be in front of the camera instead of behind it. . . aren't they a great looking family?! :-)

Play time!

On our recent trip to Pennsylvania we had a chance to catch up with one of Rich's high school friends. He and his wife have twins that are just 2 months older than Hayden. I've followed them through their family blog since they were born, so it was such a treat to finally meet them in person. They instantly took to playing and I had to snap a few photos of these pretty little girls!

They welcomed Hayden to play with them and he had just about as much playing in the leaves as he did playing with the girls!

My own, 2 months old already!

Just like that, my littlest boy is now 2 months old. He oblidged me for a photo shoot photo shoot in his crib (he's much more willing to pose for me than his older brother!). . .

Oh, wow, how I love this boy!

Hannah Elizabeth

My friends's sweet little darling was the perfect subject when I went to photograph her at 8 days old. She didn't mind being stipped down to her birthday suit, and obliged us with some gorgeous wide-eyed gazes, a few smiles, and peaceful snoozing.

Such a sweetheart. . . definitely the princess of the family!
